Sweet chilli sauce is one of my favourite condiments, and although it is easy to find plant based, it’s normally loaded with additives that I don’t want to be eating... so I like to opt for a homemade version. The ‘hot’ has been added as this is a sweet chilli sauce with a kick, just how I like it! But the chilli flakes can definitely be scaled down – if you’re not wanting it as hot, halve the amount of chilli used. The perfect condiment for many delicious recipes in this book such as the Party Sausage Rolls (p. 51), Cheat’s Samosas (p. 46) and yummy Pot Sticker Dumplings (p. 119).
