I'm sitting here with my morning coffee as I'm writing to you... and while some may describe it as my vice, if that's the worst I've got going, I'll own it! Although don't let Ellen tell you about the time we were in a very sleepy town in France and I couldn't find coffee for three days... eek.
So, for today's free recipe I've taken two of my favourite drinks and combined them into one, delicious winter-warmer...
Serves 4

Ingredients
40g whole coffee beans
800g water
80g brown sugar
120g whisky (traditionally Irish Whisky)
Method
- Place coffee beans in TC bowl, mill for 1 minute, speed 10. Scrape down sides.
- Add water. sugar and whisky, heat for 6 minutes, 70C, speed 1. Stand in TC bowl for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat espresso cups or tea cups by filling with boiling water for a couple of minutes and then pouring out.
Pour through a coffee filter or into a coffee plunger, then serve immediately in your preheated cups.
