This is one recipe that actually doesn’t require a slow cooker, but I promise it will do wonders for all your slow cooking, adding big flavour with pretty much no effort! In my humble opinion it tastes better than commercial stock powders and stock cubes, and means your dinner doesn’t come with a side of MSG or palm oil. And no chickens were harmed in the making of this recipe! I use this stock powder in much of this book, so make a batch when you’ve got a second, then add to pretty much anything and everything savoury – it makes a lot and will keep indefinitely.
